Swachhand is pleased to announce yet another New Year Trek to “DHAK BAHIRI” to experience the thrill and adventure

Meeting Point : At Bhandup Railway Station at 11.30 pm on Saturday 29th Jan,2011.
Mode of Transport: PUBLIC TRANSPORT (By Local Train/Auto Rickshaw/Bus)
About Trek:
Type : Hill forts Fort Range : Karjat Grade : Hard Base Village: Sandshi
The cave of Bahiri :The caves as such are sacred as the Lord of Bahiri resides here. From the caves, we can have a glance of the terrifying beauty of peaks of Sahyadri. We can also see the beautiful twins forts of Rajmachi, Shrivardhan and Manranjan. Here one can use the cooking vessels kept in the water in the cave. They should be kept back by cleaning after using them.
An important part of this thrilling trek is the cave, which is situated on the other side of fort, and the way goes through dense vegetation. One should proceed from here by taking support of the rocks and should be quite careful. Ascending the rock patch where a bamboo and a rope are used to climb to the caves.However, if one wishes to go to the Caves, then one will have to be a bit careful covering the rest patch! It's a thrill....enjoy it!
Kalakrai Pinnacle :This pinnacle is quite famous and frequently visited by mountaineers. The way to the left of the ridge takes to the cliff, but a rope and rock climbing equipment is necessary.
The itinerary for the trek is as given below:-
Move from Bhandup at 11.30 pm on 29.01.2010 by train up to karjat
Dt. 30.01.2011 at 02.00 am reach at Karjat Railway Station. Rest over there,
Catch Local Vehicle early in the Morning and Reach at Base Village Sandshi,
06.30 am Round of introductions, Trek Rules, Breakfast, Tea etc,
06.45 am move towards Dhak Bahiri Caves , 10.00 am in the Caves,
Exploration and sight seeing up to kalakrai pinnacle & Start descending by 11.30 am
03.30 pm again Base Village at Sandshi ,
Lunch,Evening refreshment, snacks tea etc will take during the Trek
We will Reach Mumbai by 09.00 pm tentatively.
Things To be Carried Alongwith:
● Identity Card- Must
● A haversack to put in all the things to be carried so that one has one hands free while walking
● Some ready to eat food
● Polythene bag for your garbage
● Medicine those if u require usually
● Comfortable shoes, sandals, extra pair of socks
● 2-3 bunch of News-papers
● Camera – Optional
● Lunch for Sunday i.e. 29.01.2011 (Compulsory) ,
● Water bottle 03 Liters,
● TORCH with extra batteries
●Towel, a napkin, Extra Pair of clothes
● Carry mat
● Pls do not carry sling bags/ Jholas. & please avoid wearing Gold and other ornaments.
The charges of the Trek are Rs. 300/- per head, which includes,
Travel expenditure from Mumbai to Mumbai via Public Transport
Tea, breakfast, refreshments, Medicines etc.during Trek
What is not included Anything not mentioned above, Personal orders of food, cold drinks etc.
